Much of the work of Doctors of the World and our partners is about empowerment. We all have our ways and definitions of what it means to empower a self-support group or small organization on health related matters. In essence, empowerment is about supporting people we work with to have or take more control over all aspects of their life.

In the framework of the European network to reduce vulnerabilities in health, about 15 program coordinators from Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Norway, Romania, Sweden, The Netherlands and the UK had the opportunity to meet for two days in Dublin and exchange about their practices and different ways to empower patients or service users in their daily work.
